In Memory of Irene Rose Giangrande

Irene Rose Giangrande, 96, of New Vernon passed away on August 7, 2022. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Christ the King Church, 16 Blue Mill Rd. New Vernon, 07976 on Friday, August 12^th at 10am. Interment will follow at New Vernon Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. in Chatham on Thursday, August 11^th from 5 to 8pm.

Born in Wyoming, PA, the daughter of Ernesto Delorenzi and Giuditta (Sindaco) Delorenzi, Irene was raised in Pittston, PA. She had also lived in Bergenfield, NJ before moving to New Vernon in 1958. Irene was a graduate of the Kings County Hospital School of Nursing and later from the Hunter College graduate nursing program. She was the Director of the family-owned business, AC Transformer, Newark, NJ for 45 years. In her earlier years, she was a nurse at Kings County Hospital and Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital. A founding member of Christ the King Church, Irene was also a member of the Delbarton Mother’s Guild and volunteered at the New Vernon Fireman’s Auction. Irene enjoyed painting, gardening, traveling the world, investing, and loved family gatherings and parties.

Irene was the beloved wife of the late George Giangrande. She was the loving mother of George Giangrande, Cathy Giangrande and her late husband Paul Hodgkinson, Alicia McLachlan and her husband Stuart, and Robert Giangrande. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Esther, Daniela, Christopher, Alexander, Julia, and Amelia, and great-grandchildren, Aurora, Raef, Alex, and Theo.
